Traveling to the Gardens

The Azalea Garden is located at the intersection of Rte. 198 and Rte. 3 (Peabody Drive) in Northeast Harbor. The parking area is on Rte. 198. Thuya Properties are located ½ mile to the southeast on Rte 3, and offer two parking areas. From the parking area on the west (harbor) side of Rte. 3, there is an uphill ¼-mile walk on the scenic Asticou Terrace Trail to Thuya Lodge and Garden. The second parking area is at the top of Thuya Drive, close to the garden entrance. Thuya Drive is a one-lane road accommodating two-way traffic and should be driven cautiously. It cannot accommodate RVs, buses and large trucks.

Due to limited parking, please consider traveling to both gardens on Island Explorer Buses.
